What & Where is the ArtiFacts Studio?
ar'te-fact, n. [L. art (artis) art; facere, to make.]
1. something produced by human work.
I was pondering what to call our studio, and woke up one morning saying "Art Facts.... " I knew that was the right name, and when I looked it up in the dictionary, I realized that the first definition is exactly what our studio is all about.
We're located just north of Tucson in Catalina, at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains. We enjoy a panoramic view of Oro Valley and the whole Mountain Range. Five years ago my husband Willie and I found this very special property with the studio building on it. We lived in the studio for a year while we built our strawbale home. Today, we work side by side, Willie in his woodcrafting studio, and I in my artspace. We're excited to share our workspace with the community through the arts.
We have already hosted workshops with several world-renowned clay artists, Lana Wilson, Vince Pitelka, Richard Notkin, Wally Asselbergs, Graham Hay & Paul Lewing. Stay tuned through our blog, and watch your art organization's bulletin, and local media for new events as they come up.
My vision for the studio is to gather people together in a creative environment so that we can all experience our own and each other's muse, always with fun in mind! In addition to workshops, we plan to offer classes including Painting, Drum Making, Gourd Carving, Stained Glass, and more. If you think you would like to be a teacher or student here, please give me a call 520-825-7807 or email me at artifactsstudio@gmail.com.
We are located in the Catalina Foothills by Tucson, Arizona.
One mile from Miraval. Call for more detailed directions
